THIS IS A STUNNING ANTIQUE VICTORIAN CORAL STRAND NECKLACE OF BEADS. THE CORAL IS FROM THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA AND WAS HAND CUT IN ITALY BY MASTER CRAFTSMAN PRIOR TO THE TURN OF THE 18TH CENTURY. IT IS A RICH SALMON TRUE CORAL COLOR RED, A RARE & VALUABLE SHADE! Each bead was lovingly cut by hand and they were restrung on silk cord, knotted in between each bead to protect and enhance the look. A solid 14K gold spring ring clasp was added. The end parts next to the clasp are 14K gold filled. Such fine coral beads deserve to be displayed in this luxurious manner. The knots on the silk cord protect and nstle each bead and protect them from rubbing damage. I adore coral.
