Mathias Hornsteiner Violin, 1872 label (pic showing label included) Good condition, 2 piece back, split at seam on back, repairable (pic showing split included) Mathias Hornsteiner was one of the most renown 18th century Mittenwald violin makers. Included black case (poor condition) and bow with some broken strings (bow did not originally come with violin but is more than 35 years old, purchaser unknown) This violin was passed down from my Great Aunt who passed away in the late 1980's to my Grandfather who passed away two years ago, and then to my Aunt. It has never been refinished or repaired. The researched price for one in good condition is $3000+.
