Offered for your bidding pleasure is this spectacular length of antique or vintage white rhinestone trim--9 yards worth on its original cardboard spool! I just love old store stock, especially when it comes in its original packaging. I could have a whole room of antique and vintage sewing notions, ribbons and velvets, and the like--and not once get out a needle and thread--just for the joy of it! In this case we have rhinestone trim that is meant for sewing and not jewelry making like the rhinestone chain you're more likely to find currently available. These stones have a cotton cloth tape that they are strung on, enabling the seamstress to sew or tack down a length on fabric. The cotton tape is threaded between the backs of the rhinestones and the metal prong setting of each. Single jewels can be slid off--they are not add to the cloth tape, as pictured. Each brilliant cut glass stone is backed in gold metallic paint, and measures 5mm wide. T is very, very little discoloration of any kind--I can see just two stones w the metal prongs are a bit green. The cardboard spool appears to be the original, once having held a full 12 yards, as marked. T are wear marks on the card that are consistent with the trim having been in place for a very long time.
