Here is a beautiful antique violin labeled 'Ferdinandus Gagliano Filus Nicolo Fecit Neap 176~' ( I am unable to read the last number of the date) with the need of some restorative work to bring it back to its original condition.The violin features a wonderfully figured maple back, sides and neck with a close grained sprue top. Furthermore, the varnish is a rich shade reddish dark brown.Due to the age of this fine instrument (over 240 years old!), the varnish has worn away slightly on some areas of the violin and the violin features a closd hairline crack on its side (as pictured). Furthermores, the violin seems to have had some kind of repair to the neck joint (also pictured). The fiddle will come with a case and shipping to the UK is £17.50
