Hi there, We have this old Violin that we picked up in an estate sale for auction. I'm far from an expert in violins so pardon any errors in the description.Several areas to call out:What is in the picture is all I have with this violin. old beat up case, bridge, tailpieces; one is broken, chin rest, some old strings, an the metal piece - fine tuner?? I took detailed pictures to help display the problems I see. Again - I am not an expert so please forgive me if I miss something and feel free to ask questions. The wood has a pretty grain and it appears to be an older violin that someone was working on. It has a two piece front and back and I think the purfling might be painted. The instrument measures just slightly less than 13 inches. I dont; know what size this makes it but 14 is considered full size. This may be ladies or childs - I have no idea and don't represent it in any size category accordingly.Thie violin is kind of dirty as you can see and has some damage. The varnish looks rough, the top lower left waist point as the scroll is away from you is chipped (see picture), the top lower right waist point looks rubbed or chipped also. The violin shows multiple minor marks and dings. The scroll has three cracks near the top and second to the top left pegs. I think some peg inserts might be missing and one peg is missing.
