The word Crockett though is not easily seen on either of the spurs. On one of the spurs the word is very hard to make out -- actually only the bottoms of the letters can be see, as shown in the 7th picture. On the other spur the lettering has basically all worn off, with only remnants of the lettering seen with the added help of a magnifying glass. The old leather straps are not usable as they are in very rough shape, but their condition would be OK for display purposes. These spurs do show a lot of wear with numerous scratches, nicks and discolored brownish areas all along their surfaces. Although the rowels are rusty looking they do spin freely.
