Up for your consideration is this antique/vintage ceramic roof cat. We see this life sized cat is postured with its rear end slightly angled upward, while crouching forward- postured as if it were ready to pouch. We see this cat has a brown finish and nice polished glaze. This figure has its original glass eyes still intact. We see only one area of loss on the rear (show in pictures) and a very small area which appears to be a popped air bubble behind the neck (also shown). We are unsure of the age of this cat as it does have some slight crazing in the glaze but not as much as those we have seen from the late 19th century. This may be an older reproduction circa 1930-1940. We do see yellowed residue and traces of an older label on the underside. This cat is not made of eartheware/terracotta but instead a white ceramic. We do see some wear and discoloration on the underside of the feet. Over all this roof cat is in great condition with a great posture and presence.
