Up for auction, a very rare advertising wall mount coffee grinder. This grinder was produced for the John Hoffmann & Sons,Milwaukee Wisconsin. The grinder measures 13 1/4"X 8 1/4" overall. The tin cover is original as is the tin cup into which the coffee falls after grinding, yes the grinder works. The Hoffmann's were a large dealer in coffee, spices, powders. The tin cup has a wooden knob attached and fits into the base of the grinder. This grinder shows some cleaning, the R in roasted has been rubbed but is still visiable. The litho itself is a great graphic with the old lady smiling with coffee cup in hand. The outer screws appear to be nickle plate. This would make a great addition to a country store or a upscale coffee house. It is in working condition. T is some small chips to the edge of the tin litho front, very small. The only thing missing on this wall mount grinder is a wing nut off the center shaft that holds the handle in place. The wood is all dovetailed on the box and the cast iron legs holding the box above the base are in fine condition. The only reference I could find for this grinder was an auction at Morphy Auctions in Denver Pa. 2005 spring sale.it sold with buyers premium for$1870.00.We are starting this at a low price with no reserve, this is the second one I've seen in 40 years of shows and sales. At the buy it now price we'll ship and insure for free.If you have any questions please e-mail early as we're not close to the computer all the time at the close of an auction.Buyer pays shipping and ins. unless it's purchased at the buy it now price. A great rare item for any collection.
