FINAL PRICE REDUCTION from $1,700 to $749!!!!!!!!! FREE period mahogany dresser with bed purchase!!! It was our chosen "wedding bed"...as it beautifully reflects the romantic era of the late gentile 1800's, to the turn of the century. One can only think of the caring hands that handcarved the head and footboards. The headboard could easily hold a garland of greens for the holidays (as it measures 55" high, 68.5" wide, and 7" deep). The mirror in the headboard (measuring 23.5" h and 48"wide) reflects candles from across the room. Even the feet on the footboard are handcarved measuring 4"H x 9"W x 3.5"D. We had the sideboards lenthened to accomadate a queensized matress, however, it is easily reverted to a fullsize by cutting back the siderails. It's beautifully "old feeling" and again, reminencent of the grandeur of the 19th century. We have downsized our lives and so we are ready to part with this gorgeous piece which we purchased at Jay Roberts Antiques in downtown Chicago in 1990 for a price of $3,500.00. We are sacrificing today to start the bidding at $899.00. We have had years of love and good rest in this bed's cradle and hope for the same for its new family. We have a fine reputable mover available, at your expense, who has already shipped our dining room set to Long Island, NY and our halltree to Manhattan, NY. The buyers and ourselves were pleased with the price and the condition of these fine antiques moving to their new homes. Now the set starts a new journey...with a new family...to love as we have.
