This is a beautiful antique walnut desk with a matching 2-drawer file cabinet. Circa 1930. The desktop has a burl inlay and the sides have a rhombus grain pattern, as does the file cabinet. The desk is in good condition and polishes up beautifully. T is some crazing of the finish on the top from age. Desk is approximately 60" wide x 38" deep x 30" high. On the right side, t are three drawers that are a full 32" long. The bottom drawer is an 11" deep file drawer. Above these three drawers is a pull out writing surface. The center drawer above your knees has a wooden pencil tray. The left side of the desk looks like it has three drawers but the panel folds down to reveal a swing up platform for a typewriter. The manual L.C. Smith typewriter shown in the picture is included.The two-drawer file cabinet is approximately 22" wide x 21" deep x 30" high and has metal rails for hanging files.It is our understanding this desk came from a high-rise downtown office building w it was used for many years as the main lobby information/greeter desk. My parents purchased the desk when the building lobby was remodeled and gave us the set after they had it for many years. We love the desk and hate to part with it. However, we are retiring and moving to a smaller home. We are sure you will enjoy it as much as our family has.Fillmore CA is located about 50 miles North of Los Angeles in Ventura County. Fillmore is 1/2 way between Ventura and Santa Clarita (Magic Mountain).
