PRETTY STORK & BUTTERFLY REVERSE PAINTED DOOR ~ NICE WATERBURY CLOCK! We brought this home from an estate dispersal... it was running while t..and I hung the pendulum on it and put the key in the keyhole to make sure that it was wound a bit so we could see how accurate it was...well, one black thumbnail later ...before we could wind it at all, we had a rush of sound as the key flew across the room...almost with my finger! As you can see in the photo's below, the main spring seems to have "sprung". I don't know if it needs to be completely replaced or just rewound correctly. We will leave that to you! Until this unfortunate incident, we had (and still do!) a lovely Waterbury kitchen clock with a steam pressed cabinet design...top looks like wings , and that it is ready to take flight! No chips, cracks or mars to the wood...no sign of repair. The glass has a reverse painted (in gold ) scene of a lovely stork and two butterflies ...some sort of tree shaped urn on both sides of the bird...very nice with a bit of wear to the color. Door opens and closes well, and the hinges are very good. Face appears to be original, but only marked Made in U.S.A. and not marked Waterbury ...seems very clean for it's age...could be a replacement but we see no sign that it was done. Works are marked Waterbury , and you can see the marking below in the photo. I would have gone on to say that it runs well, and is ready for your collection or use...but as you can see it is a bit out of commission presently. Key is included. Lovely one if you can refurbish...some of the label is still attached to the back. A bit of pencil writing on the back side indicating various service dates that the clock was worked on. Measures in at about 22" tall and 14 & 1/2" wide . Ask questions if you have them...will be carefully packed and shipped promptly upon confirmation of your payment. International Bidders : Your payment is due within 48 hours of auction close via Paypal only. Payment by any other method will be considered non-payment. Our apologies, but our banks are charging for clearing international money orders. USA Bidders : Your payment is due within 7 days from auction close via Paypal, or personal check/money order. No Cows, No Chickens...please use the checkout system with ebay to advise us of your payment intention at the close of the auction. Insurance is recommended , and not included in the shipping calculator quote. Please do not anticipate that we will "make good" any item damaged by the USPS or UPS systems due to mishandling. If you do obtain insurance, and have a claim, we will provide you with the proper paperwork, but you must proceed from your end with the claim. You may be asked to provide the original box and contents to the USPS or UPS prior to their processing the claim. Failure to do so will nullify their requirement to reimburse you for your loss. Additional Packaging Requests : Lately we have received a few requests to " double box " our items. While we take great care to pack our items normally, we do not generally double box . To do so adds to the weight and expense for shipping. Please be aware that if you make this request, you must do so prior to paying as your invoice must be adjusted to accommodate the additional shipping weight. Do not wait until paying to include a "note" with your payment, as we may then be unable to comply with your request. Please note : As an ebay seller we are very aware and sensitive to buyer frustration with the new expense of the Postal Service increase. We care about your item! We pack carefully, as if it will be our own and take great care. For this, we incur substantial packing costs associated with it being delivered properly to you.
