from a local sale is this wonderful Antique Monitor or Waterfall trunk. This was already mostly restored. I just painted a few details and added the clear coat for a lasting finish. I just did not have the heart to take the paper off in the inside like so many others do. The paper is 90 percent still intact showing wonderful Victorian details as in the Hunt Scene and the beautiful Victorian lady. The cover with the lady is not attached to the tray. It can be, I will just let the new owners do it if desired. The only thing missing is the curved cover for the small tray compartment. T are some things I will leave in the trunk that came with it. T is the name on one side that just adds character. Some Art items and other things from around 1918. Just a handfuls that was left. Drawings, ribbons etc. Double lock with the key. It does work both sides. Very solid. The color looks to be very close to the original color first put on over 100 years ago. The bottom is also very nicely done. This has the wheels on the bottom for easy moving. A very decent sized trunk measuring 34 1/4 long, 19 deep, 22 3/4 high. I replaced the handles with original trunk triple layer replacement leather handles for many, many more years of use. This would have been a top of the line trunk back in the day with all the detail and ornamentations I would think. A very commanding presence in any room.Very hard to find and ready for the Holidays! If sold, this trunk would not be able to go out until 12-6-08 as I am out of town. I can answer Emails, I have a friend who can take additional pics, but it will not be able to go out until then.
