Antique WAX Over Papier Mache Doll W/History! This antique doll is wax over papier mache and measures 25 in. long. She came from a doll museum in Florence Oregon that was liquidated some time ago. The muslin body is stuffed with straw, or dried grass. The small half arms are dipped in wax, as is the head and shoulder plate; the shallow shoulder plate has an uneven edge. She has small papier mache lower legs. The right one has been repaired or remade and painted to match the left. She has a human hair wig that is styled in a top knot. Her glass eyes are slightly crossed, or maybe her look is due to the eye holes, which are a bit uneven in size. Her clothing includes the dress, slip, pantaloons, camisole, and hat. All of the under clothing and hat are old and original to the doll. The dress was made from antique fabric found in an attic in a small town north of Champaign ILL. The little buttons down the front are functional. The woman who owned these dolls liked to name them; this one is "EDWINA"; the name is written on her body. She comes with a history that tells w the owner acquired the doll and more details about the clothing. T is also a name + address label on her leg from a previous owner. She is just precious and would be a wonderful addition to any Antique Doll collection! She will be sent by Priority mail fully insured.
