Hello and welcome to my auctions this week. Be sure to check them all. This auction features a SHOW STOPPER! Wedgewood Jasperware pedestal vase. 12" tall 25" around. HIGH RELIEF GRAPVINE AND PUTTI MOTIF!!! Putti are about 7" tall and are posed on the handles which are thick grapevines. T is so much activitiy taking place on this vase, encrusted with thorny vines and grape bushels This piece is very old. 19th century at least. Most beautiful piece of Wedgewood Majolica I have encountered. I have tried to photograph the bottom of the pedestal that shows very old repair. The piece was either marked and cement used to repair, covered up marking or it was not marked in first place, as I understand some very old Wedgewood was not. Damage to pedestal base is hardly detectable as vase sits on tabletop. Must be turned upside down to see. I have a piece of light blue jasperware and these seems a little darker. However, I have seen darker blues. One chip also on collar scallop. Such an extremely busy and ornate piece, hard to see flaws. Really exquisite, I hope you will agree. Low reserve compared to the value of this piece. Daryl
