Antique Wedgwood 'Lilly' (Lily) Plate & Platter MAKER: Wedgwood PATTERN: Lilly DESIGN: Large spray of water lilies and leaves - shades of mulberry and pink on platter and shades of blue on plate - all against a background of concentric circles and paisley borders with handpainted highlights Round Plate Circa 1882 9 ¼" diameter, ¾" high Backstamp: "Lilly" plus two marks which are illegible Impressed Mark: "Wedgwood - D - G1K" plus star Light crazing plus one very small fleabite on side of outer rim (which is hardly noticeable) - minor staining in center - some wear around base rim w plate would sit on a surface (consistent with age and light use) Oval Platter Circa 1929 10" x 12 5/8" x 1 ½" high Backstamp: "Wedgwood - Etruria , England - Made In England " plus one illegible hallmark Impressed Mark: "Wedgwood - Made In England - 4RF - J" Very minor wear on base rim w platter would sit on a surface (consistent with age and light use) - some minor roughness along a 2"-3" area on outer side of rim (which is hardly noticeable) PROVENANCE: Private collector - (Historic) Hyde Park, (Upstate) New York CONDITION: Aside from that mentioned above, excellent overall condition for both pieces - no other signs of damage or repair (NOTE: These imperfections do not in any way detract from the beauty, style and elegance of these impressive read more
