Antique Pottery Vase Wow! This auction is for an ABSOLUTELY gorgeous antique pottery vase. The vase was made by Weller and it has an unusual, early incised mark on the bottom. I believe this style of pottery is called Hudson and it has a wonderful, very colorful image of embossed flowers on the front. At the vase it is signed MORRIS, which was the artist, and it is a very nice, large 8¾" tall piece. The vase looks great, BUT it has an extremely professional repair to the front. It was repaired and then repainted, and I THINK it had a hairline or something that was fixed. I actually wouldn't have even noticed except for two things – one, around the edge t is a spot w you can see some white and a change in glaze color. The white flakes off, so that will be gone, but you can still see the slight change in grey blue. And two, the vase has crazing and in some areas the crazing disappears. Still a wonderful piece and displays very well. The previous owner must have paid a bundle for the repair – that is for sure! Guaranteed old and original!
