This auction is for an original antique working 102 B1 desk set telephone with an E1 seamless bakelite handset. This phone is from the late 1920's and was produced by the Western Electric Company. This phone has been meticulously disassembled, restored, rewired, reassembled, polished and buffed to look as beautiful as it did in the roaring twenties. The only replacement parts you will find are new brown cloth cords and a brown genuine suede leather bottom. This phone is in excellent condition and can be used to both place and receive calls. It has been equipped with a small modular phone jack attachment at the end of it's cord so it can simply be plugged in and used like any new phone produced today. The dial is an original #4H and is one of the oldest dials Western Electric manufactured and is famous for it's charming "clickity clack" sound as it spins. In addition, this dial has it's original porcelain numbers only dial plate which is in MINT condition. The phones body has been clearly stamped, B1 and Western Electric made in USA Pat in USA Sept 16, 24 Pats app for. The bakelite seamless E1 "spitcup" receiver looks great with it's Art Deco style and is amazingly clear for it's age. These are highly sought after models of phones because of their limited production, only about two years, and their timeless style. This is a very petite and beautiful phone and the lines of it's body are truly a work of art. We personally appreciate their classic elegance and enjoy using our antique phones daily. We have been both collectors and restorers of a variety of antique and vintage telephones for more than fifteen years and take great pride in their beauty and function. We price them very fairly and have a most reasonable reserve. Our goal is not to "hit a home run" with each sale but rather it is to slowly and methodically build our client base via ebay the same way we have locally. We find many of our customers come back for additional phones as well as recommend us to others, which is the ultimate goal. "Absolutely beautiful","Simply spectacular!" and "The best product I have ever bought on Ebay" are comments received from the new owners of phones we have auctioned on Ebay. Please take a moment to review our feedback and especially make a note to click on the "from buyers" tab. These phones make an ideal gift for an antique lover although they look beautiful in any setting, the perfect conversation piece and investment. T he winning bidder has several options regarding their phones ringer system. They can choose from an internal modern electronic ringer or an external small modern bell ringer for no additional cost. Both of these work well when you are just looking to showcase your phone and find an additional box somewhat cumbersome. The bell ringer we offer sounds much like it's predecessor, loud and clear, has a convenient on / off switch and can be discreetly placed anyw near the phone. Please note because of the last minute holiday rush, I have posted pictures on this auction which were from another auction which I recently sold a 102. These photos however represent the phone you will be receiving with the only exception being we now use a chocolate brown suede for our leather bottoms which perfectly matches our cords. It P lease take a moment to check out my other listings going this week. We will offer a $25.00 H oliday bonus discount for bidders who purchase more than one phone.
