It is rare to find an antique 1903 circa Lineman phone set like this, i.e., matching phone piece, condenser/generator and leather case with carrying strapping. The entire unit weighs approximately 15 pounds. The case with equipment inside measures 7 1/2 in. wide, 9 1/2 in. tall, 3 1/2 in. deep. It has a heavy phone ear/mouth piece which reads WESTERN ELECTRIC made in USA pat. USA August 18, 1903. It has a hand crank generator with the same stamping. I have not tested the system. The cord & wiring attaching the phone piece to the generator unit are in fair condition but t is normal wear. The leather case is solid but has some signs of normal wear such as scuffs. The condenser/generator is held within the leather case by several screws. T is a wiring diagram which is intact on the generator. On the top by the generator are four terminals, one says line 1, two say Batt and the other says GRD. Over all condition is very good. This set was used by Lineman to tap into phone lines for repair work. Shipping costwith insurance is $40 to the USA and $30 within Canada. Payment by Paypal, check or money order.
