Antique Wet Plate Era 12 Inch F8 Brass Lens This auction is for an Antique Wet Plate Era 12 Inch F8 Brass Lens. T are no engravings found on the barrel except for "Paris" engraved on the hood. The aperture scale is from F8 to 64. The focal length from image formed to the lens back measures 12 inch. The lens's front and rear surfaces show slight dullness and marks due to constant cleaning, otherwise without any fungus or haze, t is a thin balsam seperation in front. This lens is possibly made before 1870, a wet plate era lens. The aperture diaphragm open and close smoothly. Lens measures- 3 inch in height; 2¼ inch front dia; 50mm flange id.
