Wheeler and Wilson D 9 Treadle Sewing machine. No. 9 machine 1887 - 1905. Designed for Family use with its high arm it was advertised as 'The Only Perfect Sewing Machine for Family Use'. This machine still has the bobbin and case and the treadle and wheel move the machine needle up and down. I assume it works, but since I do not know how to load the bobbin with thread, I cannot say for certain. The machine still has the trademark decals of Wheeler and Wilson, W9, but they are quite faded. The drawers have a few spots around the edges w the veneer is missing and the beading on the left edge of the center draw is missing. One of the sewing plates is missing as you can see in the picture. This treadle and machine and cabinet weighs about 80-90 pounds. Overall it is a nice old treadle machine.
