Antique White Ironstone Tureen Signed "John Maddock & Son" Circa 1855 - 1870 Estate Sale Purchase Up for Auction: An Beautiful Old White Ironstone Tureen - Signed John Maddock & Son (150 years old) PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE BIDDING. DESCRIPTION: This Antique Ironstone Tureen is in Excellent conditon. It is signed " John Maddock & Son "(see photo). Pieces signed with Son and not Sons, were only made during a brief 15 year period, making this serving piece rather rare and that coupled with its fine condition makes this a wonderful example to own. It measures 12" wide handle to handle and 6 3/4 wide rim to rim. It is 3 1/4" deep and 3 3/4" tall w/o lid, 7" to top of the lid. It weighs 4 3/4 poun ds . T is fine crazing throughout (and the usual marks or imperfections that are innt in earthenware item), which is to be expected in a piece this old and t are a couple of small stains under the rim of the lid and a tiny spot on the lid and tip of the lid handle, other than that t are no chips, cracks, flea bites, repairs, etc..
