Whiting was later acquired by Gorham. It is ornate, front and back, and has a nicely pierced repousse bowl. I also have other great pieces in this pattern listed now. It is about 4-1/2" long and the bowl is about 2" across. It is hand-engraved "Rose" on the front of the handle. It is in very good condition, with some light scratching and wear from normal use and polishing. It is marked "Pat. 1891 Sterling" on the back of the handle, with the old lion holding a W hallmark for Whiting. It is also stamped with the well-known Chicago, Illinois retailer's name, "C. D. Peacock". It has a nice patina and is not tarnished. It weighs about 13.1 grams or .46 ounces on my digital point scale. PLEASE EMAIL ANY QUESTIONS!
