Poston & Co Ltd Sheffield You get BOTH the beautiful Antique Oval Meat Server/Platter and the 3 piece Carving Set in this Auction. Both items were purchased in the 1940s and are in very good condition. T is very little tarnish, mostly on the Feet of the Platter. T are only very few surface scratches and NO dents. They were stored in Heavy Plastic for Years. My husband remembers these from his childhood in the 50s being on the Dinner Table at Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. They were always very carefully cleaned and stored after each use. Antique Footed Oval Meat Platter with Gravy Well . Very well marked with the Hallmark of the Eagle W m Rogers and then a Star . Below that is 4110 . This Platter measures 16 ½ inches by 12 inches. This is a Heavy Platter, it weighs almost 2 pounds. It has a Beautiful Gadroom Rim with molded grave tree and well. The design resembles the 'tree of life'. This is a beautifully Footed Platter. The feet measure 2 inches wide by 1 inch in height. ALSO a wonderful Antique Meat Carving Set - Knife, Meat Fork and Sharpening Tool . This is a Must See, this set is very nice! Marked A.E. Poston & Co Ltd. Sheffield, Firth Stainless, Sheffield , England with original box. Beautiful set of three gently used carving items. Large 13 ¾ inch Carving Knife, 11 inch Meat Fork with bone holder and 13 inch Knife Sharpening Steel. All in original box. The handles on each of these are 5 inches long and at the widest part of handle 1 ¼ inch wide. The decoration is absolutely beautiful on these items. T are a few wear scratches on the Knife blade. The Knife blade also has "A.E. Poston & Co Ltd" on it and also has "Firth Stainless". The Meat Fork has a fold out leg that has "Made in England " and "Stainless" on it. The knife sharpening steel has writing on the file area, but I can't make out what it says. Tag on end of box says Made in Sheffield , England , Stainless Carvers, 1 Set - 3 PCE and La Regence H/S. This set is very heavy. Total weight with all items and original box is 1.5 pounds. The Total Weight of both items is almost 4 pounds. I will sell these items as set only.
