Up for bid is an absolutely incredible wood sliding book holder, which belonged to my husband's grandfather (my husband is 62). This old book holder or one-piece bookend, when opened, measures approximately 18-1/4" long x 5-1/2" deep x 6" tall. When in the closed position, it measures approximately 14" long. This hand-carved, extremely detailed book holder is adorned with a bear at each end, next to a tree. I believe this piece is made from hard wood, and could be walnut, but am not sure. It is in very good condition, with a tad of wood loss and wear, all of which does not detract from its beauty or display. The successful bidder will not be disappointed by this rare and unusual piece! B uyer is responsible for shipping and delivery confirmation costs. Insurance is included.
