I found this old box at an estate in Western New York. It's made of wood with brass inlay. Very good condition, no cracks or missing parts. I would date it to 1910-1920. The original owner of this box worked aboard The Steamer St. Clair in the early 1900's....so it may be a box for a Nautical telescope?It measures 10.5 inches long x 3 inches x 2 inches high.
