up for bids is in my estimation the nicest piece the family has put up for sale from the Powell Estate ,Lancaster,PA.The wooden burl bowl is all hand carved is in from the 1870's era.The bowl is solid maple.The family had this piece showcased in their breakfast nook.The bowl has carved handles on the back side,see pictures.Oval in shape,the bowl measures 12 x 24 1/2 inches.The top has an irregular rim.The family had a twisted wrought iron stand,c.1910, hand forged for the bowl to sit in.Folks,you just don't find these in this condition.I have been buying and collecting antiques for over 35 years now,and have never seen a burl bowl of this caliber.Words can even begin to explain its beauty.Any further questions feel free to ask.Happy Bidding!!!Thanks for looking,t will be NO RESERVE on this piece.Thanks.
