ANTIQUE WOODEN PULLEY BRASS STAMP
This is a very nice antique wood and cast iron pulley I purchased at a farm estate sale. It is the same kind of pulley used in barns and blacksmith shops in the 19th Century. These old workhorses would lift large loads of hay or help lift and hold a wagon for repairs. I don't find any marks to indicate maker. The wooden body is simple, elegant and heavily constructed. It shows some normal wear from use and age. This one is older than many you see for sale. The two pulleys are both made of metal. The two pulleys both turn freely. The wood has wear from many years of use. The heavy iron hook at the top moves feely. It was obviously hand forged, probably by a local blacksmith This item measures about 16 inches long including the hook and 6" by 6" at its widest. If you are looking for a neat old pulley, this is it. They are getting harder to find. Lots of great ways to display one of these. THIS IS A HEAVY ITEM TO SHIP, as it is 12 pounds.
