This antique mid 19th century wooden firkin or maple sugar bucket comes from my own collection of antique wooden primitives. It is in all original untouched condition with a wonderful patina to the wood. It is held together with lap bands that are tacked and stapled together with copper tacks and staples. The wooden handle is pegged into the bucket. It measures 6" high and is 6 1/8" wide across the bottom and 7" wide across the top. All things considered, I would say it is in excellent condition. There is some loosening in the wood but it is only the normal shrinkage expected in pieces this old. This is a great firkin or bucket which would be a wonderful addition to any wooden primitives collection or to decorate any period or country home with, plus it still can be put into use. Please view all photos and request more, if needed, as they best depict the condition of this piece. Also, please ask all questions before bidding.
