Up for auction is an antique wooden box bank. This was purchased from an estate sale. The woman who sold it to me told me it was her Grandmother's. She believed it to be from the 1850's. I am not sure of the date but I want to let you know what I know about it. I have done some research and I have copied the information below. The box is 2.5 inches tall by 3 inches wide by 4.5 inches long. It is in great shape. No large scratches in the wood. There is 3 stripes across the top or what I call inlaid. I am not sure what kind of wood it is. It is light color. There is a knob on the front that connects to the drawer. The drawer pulls out and there is a spot to put a coin in. When the coin is placed in the coin spot and the drawer is pushed in the bottom comes out of the coin spot and the coin drops in the box. On the bottom of the box is the label that is in poor condition. But from my research I have determined that the it is an advertisement or premieum giveaway for the Clark's Mile-End Spool Cotton Sewing Co. It is glued on the bottom of the box and it is ripped in a few places and there are pieces missing. It looks like the bottom as been taken off and rescrewed back on. The bottom is the only way to get your money out. Please email any questions. Paypal only, payment due 48 hours after end of auction. Shipping is free. Here read more
