Need something really nice to decorate your home? How about a fabulous, all original, antique trencher?! This old bowl dates back to the 19th Century and was hand hewn from a single piece of wood and was likely an important part of a country household. We discovered this one in an old barn we emptied out and it is in excellent condition. Although it's still dirty and dusty, you can see the wonderful, old patina this bowl has. Lots of original carving detail can be seen all over this bowl. It has folksy, carved carrying handles on each end which add lots of character.
Very solid and well-preserved, this old trencher measures 30 1/2" inches long, 11 1/4 inches wide, and about 5 inches high. Because of the charming, imperfect shape of this primitive dough bowl, the measurements vary a bit depending on w taken. It sits level on any flat surface. Perfect as a centerpiece for your table, it would look great filled with gourds, apples, pine cones, balls of yarn, walnuts, or just about anything else you can think of. If you like authentic, country antiques straight from the source, you'll love this old dough bowl! The winner of this auction adds postage based on Zip Code and weight. Good luck!
