This is truly a one-of-a-kind, and would be great as an addition to any antique enthusiast's collection.This is a wooden dough bowl, sometimes referred to a dough trough, bread bowl or kneading trough. This item was purchased for $150 at an antique dealer in Colorado during the 1990's. The bowl/trough is made from one solid piece of carved wood, making in very unique. You can clearly see that this is one piece, and has not been pieced together or fabricated in any way. As you can see in the photos, this piece has some weathering and wear and tear. We have never used it for anything other then display. We are selling this item based as an antiquity, and it is no longer intended to be used as a bread bowl, dough trough, or any other storage or cooking device. We have no information as to the age or history of this piece, however our internet research indicated that bowls/troughs of this type may have some European heritage, particularly in the United Kingdom or Scotland/Ireland. From handle edge to handle edge, this piece measures 17.75" across. From edge to edge, this bowl is 9.2" across.
