Well guys, what a beauty we have ! I've had this jewel around for years and now I've decided it's time to dust it off and give it a new home. I know nothing about the history of this old tool so if anybody out t can tell me more about it I would sure like to hear from you. The length is 17 inches and it stands 13 inches tall. The workboard is 5 x 5 1/2 inches. The iron pulley is 4 3/4 inches in diameter, and the grove is 1/4 inches wide for an "A" v-belt. The saw blade appears to be standard size. Imprinted on the tension bar on the pulley side is - HUDSON MANUFACTURING COMPANY DETROIT U.S.A.. This is on four horizontal lines, each below the other. On the opposite side of the tension bar is imprinted HOMECRAFT BEAVER EQUIPMENT. Inserted into the word BEAVER is a picture drawing of a beaver. Again, the words are on separate lines. I hope you can see this in my photos. I did a Google search on all of this and came up blank. I presume this little gem was made for home hobby use, and possibly for high schools to use in their wood shop classes. My uneducated guess is that this is a product of the 1930's, though I have no evidence to prove it. I have not tried to wash it off or clean it up in any way except to wipe it off with a towel. It is in really great condition and I believe all original. The tension spring has a little minor rust on one end, but still works fine. I have placed a low opening bid price on this vintage tool, but no reserve price. Feel free to ask any questions or forward any information. Thanks for your interest and good luck bidding.
