We are delighted to offer this beautiful antique filigree sterling silver and camphor glass pendant necklace with a military motif, given to a sweetheart by her beau before leaving for perhaps the last time , before meeting his fate in Flanders fields. The stunning camphor glass pendant has a very ornate sterling filigree setting, rife with Art Nouveau detailing. The pendant itself is quite large, measuring almost 2" long x 1 1/4" wide, x 1/4" thick. The center of the camphor glass pendant is adorned with a sterling eagle holding arrows in one claw and the olive branch in the other, with a cartouche above engraved with 'Epluribus Unum'... and we all recognize that phrase! The pendant comes with the original fine link 18" chain which is marked 'sterling'. I cannot say enough about the beauty of this necklace, or the importance of what it signified. And the fine craftmanship on the filigree is amazing. The pendant is free of chips, cracks , scratches or other insults... it is virtually perfect! This fine piece weighs 7.2 grams, is full of history, meaning...and would make a great addition to any collection or jewelry casket. Thank yuo for your interest, and please... pray for the safe return of all of our service men and women!
