Antique Lemaire WWI Field Glasses/Binoculars World War I Field Glasses made by Lemaire of Paris. Lemaire made a wide range of optics, from binoculars to opera glasses, and they were widely used by all sides and all services during the Great War. These were used by a British serviceman and are marked with the broad arrow on one side and the serial number S 3 14954 on the other They are made of blackened brass and bound in leather, which is original and firmly attached to the metalwork. A few scuffs to the surface commensurate with age and use. The binoculars still work well, focusing fine. No dents to the casing. Lenses in good shape. Fully extended, they measure just under 19.5 high. With the shades extended 22.5cm.
