Very interesting piece of history and art together in this item. From World War 2 is this used 75 MM artillery shell. The bottom gives information and the date 1943. It is just about 10 1/2 inches tall. On the shell is alot of work. The name Souvenir Metz is on it. This city played a very important role in the war following landing at Normandy. You can see the city castle and buildings on it. In my research on this item, I read that Disney used these landmarks as an influence in designing the Magic Kingdom. This item belonged to a man who served with the US 3rd Army. He woked as a tank mechanic. I was unable to find out any more details about it. I will be happy to take more photos or try to answer any questions you may have. Thank you.
