ITEM: This is an incredible Shinto & Buddhist mixed senninbari (1000 person stitch) soldier's belt. This belonged to a soldier named Murakami Kazumi-san. T's some staining and a few small tears only. Overall, it's great, see the pics that I have provided. The front writing in red stitches reads KIBUUNCHOUKYUU (A Prayer for Lasting Military Fortune). The black script is bonji (Buddhist script /wiki/Bonji ). T's a great article on senninbari : /wiki/Senninbari This measures 37 inches long by 6-1/8 inches wide. The width is doubled when unfolded. Soon t will be a great book out on Senninbari & Yosegaki flags. I've already seen the cover and it looks GREAT. I think the value will rise after the book comes out.
