ITEM: This is a very nice 1930s Japanese soldier's photo album. The soldier was in the 40th Infantry Regiment. The 40th was assigned to the 10th Division ( /wiki/IJA_10th_Division ) First, I need to say I am the worst at taking photos of photo albums. I can assure you that the album and photos are in much better condition and clearer than my photos show. That being said... T are a total of 152 photographs in the album, plus 13 sightseeing location stamps. Some of these stamps are military and Kokubou Fujin Kai related too. Nearly all the photographs appear to have been taken while this soldier was on duty in China. You can get a sense from the photos that this soldier probably thought of his time in China as a wonderful adventure, not only are t photos of his fellow soldiers (and their uniforms, weapons/gear, vehicles and all that other good stuff), but many photos of Chinese citizens in various clothing, a rickshaw man in full stride pulling a fashionable lady down the street, a couple of white women (probably Russian or Jewish), some puppies and other animals, architecture, the Great Wall and much more. Next to many of the photos are the names of the places and people. I think most photos date from mid to late 1930s. This album has been apart of my own collection for years, I promise the winning bidder will enjoy it as much as I did. The overall condition is excellent. It's a large album, shipping will be a little expensive, but well worth it. I am selling all my Japanese antiques and sword related books now. If you're collecting, you have found the right place.
