This is a very nice antique WWII era Imperial Japanese Army soldier's send-off banner. The top has a sakura, crossed rising sun & hinomaru flags and reads KANSOU (Happy Farewell!) & MURATA KOUJIBEI-KUN (The young soldier's name). The banner feels like silk, but is probably rayon. The condition is excellent, no damage. It measures 34.5 inches x 8-7/8 inches. See the othe banner I have listed today, it's for the same soldier. This is an original WWII era banner, guaranteed not to be a modern day repro. Own a piece of Japan's wartime imperial past with this great patriotic piece.
