Up for auction today is a Working Antique Zenith Transoceanic Tube Radio, Model 8G-005YTZ1 this Black Leattte portable 1948 classic comes to you today in working condition. This radio has the famous airplane dial and flawless left side speaker grille with fold up front and perfect telescoping antenna and even comes to you today with the original "Zenith Shortwave Magnet with Wave Booster" . The dimensions are 17" long by 8" wide by 11" tall. I have gone through this radio receiver and did a great deal of maintenance and cleaning. All tubes have been checked and replaced w needed and now test extremely strong. Very little work had to be done with this classic radio to bring it back to its original beauty...just a lot of cleaning and now it truly resembles that of the finest collectable vintage radios. The beautiful Black Leattte case, as to be expected with a nearly 50 year old radio, does has some very minor wear as can easily be seen in the many photos: please examine photos carefully. The plastic dial cover is original and clear without a single flaw. The original chart map is also untouched and in like new condition. All seven push buttons bands are original and in good working order and in fine condition. The speaker is original and working very well. The four tone switch knobs are all also original and in proper working condition . This rare find can be seen on page 309 of Antique Radios Sixth Edition, by John Slusser. I recently purchased an entire collection of vintage radios from an estate of an old Collector and radio repairman. EBay seems just like the perfect place to put them up for auction. I restored this radio myself and really put the effort into it that it deserved. This is one really nice radio and a very rare find in this awesome condition so please check out the photos for a better appreciation of this fine collectable radio. I feel confident that this item will make a very nice addition to anyone's Vintage Tube Radio Collection. No one can be expected to be an expert at everything. I have done my best to describe the item accurately, and in an honest opinion. It is highly suggested you look at the pictures, and read the descriptions to determine if the item is what you want. If you are still unsure, please ask questions before you bid. As is the case with all vintage radios this item is being sold "as is" and offers no return policy. Buyer pays actual shipping and insurance costs. We over pack to get you the item just as you see it We have had great success in shipping through careful packing and choosing the right carriers for our vintage items. Insurance is fine, but in the case of an antique it can't replace the item. Thank You for Looking and Happy Bidding! Please Check Out My Other Radio Auctions!
