For auctionis the 1897 Vive No 4 box camera made by the Vive Camera Company of Chicago Ill. It took 12 4x5 glass plates or cutfilm holders. Description Vive No 4 Box Camera by Vive Camera Company, Chicago Used 4 x 5 glass plate film. Some metal film holders included. Focusing knob with focusing 24" to Infinity. Choice of 3 f stops, Instant and time shutter speeds. Camera in 9 ½" long, 5" high, 5 ¾" wide. Condition As found, poor condition. For display, parts or repair. The exterior is complete and the leather covering show wear and scuffing, but nothing missing. The dark sleeve has stiffened and does not fold to close the lid. The frame that holds the dark sleeve to the camera body has come loose. I have taken the metal glass negative holders out and wrapped them separate to avoid rattling during shipment.
