Up for your consideration is this antique H D SMITH (Plantsville, CT) "Perfect Handle" ball peen hammer. As you can see in the photos, it has been used throughout the years and has its wear marks, but is in very good condition. The handle is in very nice shape with no cracks and no wiggle to the wooden panels. The face is in very good shape for a worker of this age, with no chips missing from the edges. The hammer is 10" in length and the head is a bit longer than 3". This came from an estate Plantsville, CT, where the grandfather worked for H D Smith. This tool is not marked with the H D Smith name, and was most likely brought home before the marking was done. But be assured it is the real McCoy. Easily could have been a lunchbox tool. Good luck purchasing this neat old tool.
