You are bidding on a very interesting piece we purchased from the estate of a collector. We were told that this 12" footed vase was from the Meiji Period, but we are not sure. Hopefully you collectors will know. This Japanese Satusuma piece has the classic Moriage Decoration. The details are great and there are figures of what might be warriors on each side of the vase.About 5.5" wide at the widest part. Looks like 2 little Foo Dog shaped characters on each side of the spout. But maybe they are something else.We are not sure if this piece was once mounted on a base. The bottom under the footed part has what looks like a reinforced poured area that we are not sure what it is for.A gorgeous old piece in good condition for its age.
