Cased Satin Glass Fluted Bowl with Deep Pink Color on Silver Pedestal! Applied Frosted Ribbon Edge ~ Absolutely Breathtaking! Hello and welcome to my auction! Offered for bidding is a Victorian Era Cased Satin Glass Fluted Bowl with Deep Pink Color on a Silver Pedestal. While I do not know who made this beauty, I found a similar type glass bowl in reference book American Art Glass by John Shuman III on page 100. He describes the glass as Mother of Pearl, Pink Hued and Ruffled with applied frosted ribbon edge. No maker is given. This Bowl is a white cased satin glass and the color inside the bowl gradates from pink to deep pink (almost red) and ends with the frosted ribbon edge. The pedestal base is silver (not sterling). The only mark on the base is EPNS (electro-plated nickel silver). The pedestal is hollow and it appears that the bowl was made with a knob on the bottom that is cemented to the pedestal. The bowl measures 6 1/2" high (including the pedestal which is 3 1/2" high) and 9" in diameter with a base diameter of 4 1/2". The Bowl is in Excellent Condition with no chips, cracks or flakes. The pedestal needs a bit of polish if you prefer it to be bright and silvery.
