Antq Weir No. 2 Molded Quart Preserve One Color Base Stoneware Jar Latch 1901This is a Weir Pottery No. 2 one-quart one-color base jigger molded preserve stoneware jar with the patented metal closure that holds the lid in place.It is a dark brown slip glaze on the lid over a lighter color jar.It displays nicely.(C)Don't let this get away!SIZE: About 7-3/4" tall to top of handle (7-1/4" to top of lid) and 4-1/8" base.CONDITION: The wire closure has overall rust and hold the lid in place. But the iron lever is bent almost straight out and so the top isn't snug. The lid has a flat nick along the edge and three tiny rough spots underneath. The base has a 3/4" tight crack extending from a chip on top lip. Common crazing on jar. Some roughness on bottom edge. Top of lid is missing some glaze. Base of Jar has two production chips on edge.MARKS: On lid: No. 2, 'The Weir' Pat.
