Up for auction is a very rare antique original stoneware ginger beer bottle, it is unusual to find this old blob top bottle in mint condition, or in any condition. On the front it reads, BREWED GINGER BEER, LEITCH, REG TRADE MARK, EDINBURGH, this beautiful old crock bottle was made in 1870s. It is expertly hand thrown, salt glazed and has the screw in stopper missing. The lettering and logo are in a black ink transfer, is clear and strong, and it is a gray-beige color on the bottom half and a carmel color on the top with a high gloss finish. This old bottle has the pottery makers mark incised on the side and reads BUCHAN 20 PORTOBELLO EDINBURGH, the measurements are 8 1/2" tall x 2 1/2" wide and weighs about 1 lbs pound not packaged for shipping. It is in mint condition with no chips, no cracks, and no repairs, all marks are the original manufactures workmanship just as it came out of the kiln. See the photos for more details, and look at the old aged patina on it that only time can produce. "WOW" what a rare and outstanding collectable piece of history, so here is your chance to own it.
