DESCRIPTION Culture: ROMAN. Date: 1ST - 3RD CENTURY AD. Material: BEIGE STOEN. Provenance: EX: PRIVATE SALE. Condition: MISSING RIGHT ARM, HEAD AND LEFT HAND. Measurements: 3.75 INCHES HAND. (9.5 CMS). A loveley bust of a woman, possibly Venus, she is depicted with her hair tied and falling back in one bundle towards the middle of her back. She is wearing a thin himation that is covering her left breast, and tied above her left arm. Her right breast is exposed, and her left hand resting on her left breast. Traces of guilding in brown red. A very pretty and affordable early bust. This object is unconditionally guaranteed authentic.
