~ APOLLO SILVER CO FULL PINT HIP FLASK c1880 ~

~ Awesome Collectible ~

Presenting an antique silverplated pint flask from the late 19th century. Made by the Apollo Silver Co. of New York. They merged with Bernard Rices' Sons in the 1890s, so this old flask dates before then. Hallmarked Apollo Silver Co. on the underside of the cap keeper. With what looks to be the original sealing cork in the cap.

Note the well-done hammered finish in the pics. T is also a vertical smooth rectangular spot on the front w a mongram would have been engraved, but never was. The flask is nicely curved to fit smoothly and discreetly along the body.

This antique silverplated hip flask is in great shape for its age. T are NO dings or dents anyw on the piece! Cap, threads and hinge all in good shape. The silverplate is well-worn with significant plate loss, no doubt from many drinks being taken from said flask! I'm sure this piece could relate some tall tales if it could speak. The worn look gives this old flask great character, but you could always have it re-plated.

Dimensions: 8" high to top of cap. 4 3/4" wide x about 1" thick.

This is an awesome collectible antique/conversation piece. How cool would it be to take this into a ballgame or concert? It's so sleek it would never be felt in a pat-down search at the gate!

Great luck with this one...and thanks for checking out this auction...
