This whimsical pitcher creamer was made by Arabia of Finland pottery and is 5 1/4 inches tall and approximately 8 inches from lip of spout to handle. It was donated to our organization, age and origin unknown. It is in excellent condition with only a couple very soft brush-like surface scratches and a small chip on the bottom rim (see photo). This is not visible when the pitcher is standing upright. The surface marks are only detected when the light hits the pitcher at an angle. The bottom has a dark green stamp that reads "Arabia Wartsila Finland, KESTAA KOHEPESUM, TAL MASKINDISK, Dishwasher-proof" This piece of dinnerware was designed by Kaj Franck who won a number of artistic awards including a gold medal at the 1951 Milan Triennale and the Gran Premio in 1957. He also won the Lunning Prize in 1955 and the Compasso d'Oro in 1957. A show of his artwork was held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1992. This would be a wonderful addition to any scadinavian collection, or a fun piece to in country decor. We list items as accurately as possible but we are not experts on the items we list.
