Archaic Heavy Jade Bowl w/ Carved Primative Characters

This excellent archaic jade bowl has primative Chinese characters carved in high relief. T are four characters altogether. Its weight and thick walls would seem to indicate a very early carving. I believe it is Shang Dynasty, or that nebulous time between the end of the neolithic tribes and the Dynastic eras, the fabled Xi Dynasty. Age is between 3500 and 4500 BC. This artifact is very rare. I have only seen a few of them and that was for a very brief period. It is heavy and solid with moderately heavy calcination and erosion. It weighs about 1 lb and 3 oz and measures4-5/16 inches in diameter and 2-3/8 inches in height. I seriously doubt you will see another piece like this offered for sale.
