Postal History Large archive of stampless folded letters here from the 1840's and 1850's all sent to John Davy in Centersburgh (also spelled Centerburg) in Knox County, Ohio. There are 38 covers in total - 21 with postal markings and 17 with no markings. Many of the letters came from John Bingham in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Bingham was an Ohio Congressman and a judge who later served in Abraham Lincoln assassination trial! He was also the prosecutor in the impeachment trial of President Andrew Jackson. He was appointed by Lincoln to serve as a judge advocate in the Union Army. /wiki/John_Bingham LOADS to read and study - most of the letters originate from Mr. Bingham in New Philadelphia, Ohio but I noted a few others including Brunswick, New Jersey, Columbus, Ohio, Baltimore, Maryland, Carroll County, Ohio and others. Content is a mixture of business and person matters. I really didn't study the content very closely and will leave the fun & rewards up to the winning bidder. We hope this represents a treasure trove to an Ohio researcher or perhaps a Davy or Bingham family member. We tried to show a variety of scans. Condition is fair to excellent. No idea what this lot is worth - we will start at our normal $9.50 minimum bid and see what happens. Good luck. Terms $1.00 postage in the United States, and only $ 2.00 elsewhere. We combine postage for multiple purchases. Postal insurance extra. We're members of the American Philatelic Society. We've been selling on eBay since July 1998 and, thanks to customers like you, have a 100% feedback rating. ! I accept payments from anyone with a credit card at PayPal - always FREE!
